Rockhampton to Tewantin

Hi All

It's been nearly and month since I lasted updated our blog (too busy dashing here and there and to many happy hours)

Bring you up to-date on where we have been and what we have done since the last update,
we stayed at the Big4 Caravan Park Rockhampton for a week and had a good look round the area, the highlights were Botanical Gardens, Chinese Gardens, Mt Archer lookout and the Heritage Museum.
Rockhampton has a small Zoo but is not that great a few dingo's monkeys, croc's and birds but it's Free so not bad for the price.

We then headed to Tannum Sands for a few days but this is where the heavens open up and we were stuck there for 5 nights not a lot to do as to much water around and lots of roads closed.
We heard the Bruce Hwy south was open so we left Tannum Sands and headed for Maryborough but only got to Miriam Vale and were told the bridge had been closed.
There were over 100 road trains parked up on bothsides of the Bruce Hwy in the town centre.

We found out that the road was open to Agnes Water and 1770 and that there were caravan sites available so we headed to 1770 (which I thought was a strange name for a town until to know the reason) Captain Cook landed at this spot on 24th May 1770. We stayed here for a few days and had look round the area which was very nice.

We then headed to Hervey Bay for a few nights and caught up with Noel and Judy for dinner and a few drinks, it was a great night. We went to the markets on Saturday morning and had a good look around need to spend more time around this area next time.
